Touring Colorado
What started out as a tour around the state to find out what the people of Colorado wanted, turned out to be an adventure of challenge. As a candidate, Cleve Tidwell found a need to help these people achieve their goals, by listening to what they wanted and taking that to Washington.

As a veteran, Cleve understands and supports those who have stood in the gap for liberty, fellow veterans.
Participating in Events
Walking through an Antique Auto Show, Cleve learned the value of protecting our right to save what has gone past. History is important. Looking back teaches us to look forward. That single concept has created a power and strength of understanding in this nation. The Constitution was written, based on the past, and in the past two hundred and thirty plus years, there has been more growth in this country and around the world than there had been in the previous five thousand years.
Values and Principles
There was no plan when the Constitution was written for a lifetime career in politics. The government was designed to be run by part time public servants who supported themselves with a job (or their own business) and spent time serving their country as political leaders. Tidwell understands the concept of fiscal responsibility, smaller government and strong national defense, based on personal integrity, personal independence and willingness to stand up to the political machine.
International Experience
Having worked in several different countries, some of them socialist, Tidwell understands the importance of maintaining the freedom and liberty in America. When the daughter of a friend in a socialistic country needed medical care and was forced to wait for the single payer system to provide that care, she died. Cleve Tidwell recognized the need there, to improve access to medical care with greater freedom to pursue medical solutions, and understands that American medical care can stand many improvements but is still superior to ANY socialized medical care.
His motivation to improve medical care and prevent further intrusions on the freedom and liberty of American businesses comes from living as an American under various other regimes that limited his freedom. Tidwell appreciates the economic structure that allows American businesses to prosper and grow. His knowledge of growing a business as a business owner means he understands the importance of meeting a payroll with money in the bank. Meeting the payroll means cutting the tax costs of small business. Tidwell knows the importance of cutting taxes for businesses here in the United States to build more business and increase jobs.

A working part of the business world, Cleve stepped down from his career because he saw the damage being done to freedom and liberty in America by leaders who have stopped serving the people. His interest in the U.S. Senate revolves around the knowledge that the people of America need representation in Washington who will listen when they speak. Tidwell listens.
